The Catholic\nDiocese of Livingstone Biblical Apostolate is concerned\nwith making the Word of God known, understood and loved by all. Its task is to meet the hunger of\npeople to read, study and pray the Scriptures, making the Diocese vibrant with\nthe Word of God.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, the Year of the Word of God is a\nvery significant event making us all aware of the vital importance of the Word,\nwhich is God\u2019s greatest gift, the source of life and means of encountering the\nLord in a personal and communal manner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a well-known fact that the Bible is\nthe soul of all the activities of the Church including Liturgy, Catechesis,\nSmall Christian Communities, Justice and Peace as well as Evangelization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini said: \u201cThe\nChurch is born from the Word of God\u2026the word of the prophets, the word of the\napostles and, finally, the written word of the Bible. Being born from the Word,\nthe Church is renewed, she is regenerated every time she returns to the Word\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Year of the Word is a response of the\nChurch to the thirst for God, felt by people and for this reason Biblical\nApostolate in the Diocese of Livingstone in collaboration with all Parishes, will\nmake an effort to place the Word of God at the center of our various activities.\nAmong them, the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Making the Bible accessible through the sale of Bibles in different languages in the respective Parishes. Each family is encouraged to have a Catholic Version of the Bible.<\/li>
  2. Preparing and Commissioning the Lectors for various Parishes.<\/li>
  3. Enthronement of the Bible in the Churches, the SCC and at homes as a constant invitation to \u201ctake and read\u201d God\u2019s Word.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
    1. Holding Workshops\n and Inputs for Adults, Youth and Children to furnish the faithful with the\n information about the Bible, to foster biblical spirituality and ensure\n that the Bible pervades all forms of prayer and devotion.<\/li>
    2. Organizing\n Bible quizzes and dramatization of biblical passages to make people, especially\n the young ones, familiar with the Bible.<\/li>
    3. To make Biblical\n Programs on local Radio to reach out to the wider community of the\n faithful.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
