NEW PARISH BORN IN LIVINGSTONE

Rt. Rev. Valentine Kalumba, OMI., created St. Paul’s Parish in Ngwenya,  Livingstone on 27th May, 2018. In creating the new Parish, the Bishop stated that, the creation of the Parish marks the beginning on new parish life for the community of Ngwenya and the surrounding areas. He  further encouraged the parishioners of the newly created Parish to work hard and look after their clergy.

Meanwhile,  Fr. Barnabas Simatende,OMI, the Parish Priest of St. Paul’s Parish,  thanked all the people who took an active role in the establishment of the Parish, namely: the Bishop, the Christ the King Parish and the local community.

Fr. John Damascene Rurangwa, Diocesan Pastoral Coordinator, officiated, on behalf of the Bishop.  The celebration was attended by a hundreds of parishioners around Livingstone. St. Paul’s becomes the nineteenth (19th) Parish in the Catholic Diocese of Livingstone. It has an estimated Catholic population of three hundred (300).
