Today 22nd August, 2018, on the Feast of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Diocese of Livingstone held a cocktail party to celebrate the 30th Priestly Ordination anniversary of Fr. John D. Rurangwa, the Diocesan Pastoral Coordinator. Present at the party, characterised by prayers and music, were the Rt. Rev. Valentine Kalumba, OMI, and the Curia staff.

Speaking at the same event, the Bishop thanked Fr. John for the gift of the Priesthood. His Lordship noted that Fr. John was one of the senior-most members at the Curia, and therefore, encouraged him to keep on the good work of serving the Lord in the Diocese of Livingstone. “Look, you came with long, black hair, but now you have grey hair, a sign that you should somehow slowdown in your work”, the Bishop told the celebrating clergy. In response to the generosity exhibited by the hosting of a cocktail to his honour, Fr. John thanked the Curia for showing him love through the event. “I am totally moved by this gesture of your generosity. Thanks a lot to you all”, stated Fr. John.

Fr. John D. Rurangwa, a Diocesan priest, hails from Diocese of Butare in Rwanda. He was born of 2nd March 1960 and was ordained a priest on 21st August 1988.
