Sr. Magdalene Sitondo, LSSF, tours the new ablution block

Two newly constructed ablution blocks were on 31st August, 2018, handed over to St. Mary’s Secondary School by the Catholic Diocese of Livingstone.

Handing over the completed project, Fr. Paul Mubiana, the Diocesan Procurator and project supervisor, stated that it elated him to see the completion and handing over of the works. “You know this project started last year in 2017, it therefore gives me joy to see it completed”, stated Fr. Paul. He equally congratulated Edward Siwale of ES- Structural Enterprises, the contractor, for having done a good job.

Meanwhile, Sr. Magdalane Sitondo, LSSF, Superior General of the Little Sisters of St. Francis, who are the managing agency of the school, thanked the donors , Manos Unidas, for their generous financial support toward the construction of the sanitary facilities. She expressed joy and excitement at the new sanitary structures. “These two ablution blocks we are receiving today are decent. They will contribute to the personal hygiene of the girls, especially that they have running water and have showers, conducive for use in the hot season”, mentioned the Superior General and former Headmistress of the school.

Speaking at the same event, Patrick Liswaniso, representing the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA), extended his gratitude to the Diocese for the gift the school received from it through the cooperation of Manos Unidas. He called on the school management to ensure that the facilities were properly utilised.
