EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) TO PRE – QUALIFY FOR APPOINTMENT AS INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANTS TO UNDERTAKE FEASIBILITY STUDIES FOR SETTING UP A FIVE STAR HOTEL FOR CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF LIVINGSTONE

Background
The Catholic Diocese of Livingstone will set aside funds in its operating budget to cover eligible payments under the contract to hire individual consultants to undertake feasibility studies for setting up a FIVE STAR HOTEL for the Church. The establishment of a FIVE STAR HOTEL is in line with the Church four year strategic plan – A strategic process for strengthening and sustaining the needs of the Diocese from 2016 to 2019.

Overall objective
The overall objective of this study is to provide verifiable information that will help in the set – up of a viable A FIVE STAR HOTEL that will enhance the Diocese of Livingstone commercial and financial viability.

Scope of Work/Tasks
In carrying out the feasibility study to achieve the above objective, the individual consultant will be required to carry out not limited to the following
-
Report on the overall potential of the industry, stating market segments including their potential and gaps to be exploited
-
Establish current players on the market with their market share and highlight the proposed A FIVE STAR HOTEL’s market potential in relation to the existing public and private hotels operating in Zambia.

Report /highlight on industry challenges and how they can impact on the business
-
Report on the use of hotel as a platform to grow the commercial viability of Diocese of Livingstone
-
Enumerate the key success factors of the industry
-
Report on the viability of the A FIVE STAR HOTEL
-
Report on the profitability of existing five star hotels and advise on the capital outlay required to invest in a successful Five Star Hotel.

Expected Outcome
The individual consultant should produce and submit to Management, a detailed study report which among other things should provide the following:-

Recommendation clearly stating whether or not Catholic Diocese of Livingstone can grow its commercial business by construction a FIVE STAR HOTEL.

If the recommendation is positive, what are the milestones that need to be undertaken in the establishment of such a hotel.

Report and advise Management on any matters incidental to the establishment of a FIVE STAR HOTEL.

Duration
The duration of the assignment is 30 working days post selection of the individual consultant.

Eligibility and pre-qualification criteria
This EOI is open to all eligible individual consultants in the hospitality industry. However, consultants need to provide the following information:-

Valid registration as hospitality consultant

Submit detailed CV
-
Provide documentary proof of valid ZRA – TPIN registration
-
Have technical or communication formal training with not less than 15 years working in hospitality industry of which 10 years should be at senior management level.

Proof of having worked closely in establishing A FIVE STAR HOTEL
-
Trade referees addressed to Catholic Diocese of Livingstone from at least three (3) viably running A FIVE STAR HOTEL’s were similar consultancy was provided.

Proof of availability of appropriate skills (finance & business management among others) with other individuals that the key individual consultant proposes to carry out the assignment with.

However fax, electronic and late submissions will not be allowed.
Please note that this is not a contract but an Expression of Interest and the Catholic Diocese of Livingstone reserves the right to cancel or annul this process without assigning any reason thereof.
